Biobased content
According to European Standards, the term ‘bio-based’ means ‘derived from biomass’ and is an indicator of the (renewable) origin of the material. The biobased content of our additives is given as biobased carbon content (organic + inorganic) expressed as fraction of the total amount of carbon in the sample. The biobased carbon content is calculated according to EN 16640:2017.
Biodegradability
Biodegradable materials are synthetic or natural compounds which can be broken down by living organisms, such as bacteria, fungi, or yeast, into environmental harmless components which can be reabsorbed by the natural environment. Biodegradability is an indicator for the persistence and degradability of the product. The biodegradability of our products is calculated by degradability studies determined in accordance with OECD 301 guidelines or similar studies of the raw materials. A material is considered “readily biodegradable” if it degrades over 60% within a 28-day timeframe.
No/low VOC content
According to EU regulations 2004/42/EC and/or 2010/75/EU, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are defined as organic compounds that have an initial boiling point of up to 250 °C (at 101,3 kPa) and/or an vapour pressure less than 0,01 kPa at 20 °C. VOCs are substances that easily evaporate into the air and may contribute to air pollution. Additives with low VOC content have a minimal impact on emissions and indoor air quality. Our VOC values are calculated using raw material information, unless otherwise stated. Products containing less than 5 g/l VOC are considered VOC-free and less than 50 g/l VOC as low VOC.
No/low SVOC content
According to EU regulations 2004/42/EC, Semi Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs) are defined as organic compounds that have an initial boiling point of 250°C up to 370 °C (at 101,3 kPa). SVOCs are substances that easily evaporate into the air and may contribute to air pollution. Additives with low SVOC content have a minimal impact on emissions and indoor air quality. Our SVOC values are calculated using raw material information, unless otherwise stated. Products containing less than 5 g/l SVOC are considered SVOC-free and less than 50 g/l SVOC as low SVOC.
Biocide-free
The term biocide-free refers to products that do not contain any intentionally added substances intended to prevent microbial growth of bacteria, fungi, and yeasts.
Free of animal testing
We do not conduct animal testing by our self. We are committed to minimize animal testing and adhere strictly to legal requirements set forth by the European Union. In accordance with these regulations, animal testing is conducted only when legally mandated and is limited to the mini-mum necessary to ensure safety for humans, animals, and the environment.
Addapt Chemicals is dedicated to supporting the development of alternative testing methods, such as in vitro testing, that reduce or eliminate the need for animals. However, where alternative methods are not yet available for certain toxicological endpoints, animal testing remains a re-quirement for validation purposes.
Free of conflict minerals
Our products are manufactured without intentionally incorporating conflict minerals, like Tantalum (Ta), Tin (Sn), Tungsten (W), and Gold (Au). Our commitment is to ensure that these minerals, which may be associated with unethical mining practices, are not utilized in the production of these products.
Free of PFAS
Our products are manufactured without the intentionally use of PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances). We are committed to ensuring that PFAS, known for potential environmental and health concerns, are not incorporated into the production of this product.
Free of Microplastics or Synthetic polymer microparticles
Our goal is that our products are manufactured without the intentionally use of microplastics or better known as synthetic polymer microparticles conform regulation (EU) 2023/2055. We are committed to ensuring that synthetic polymer microparticles, known for potential environmental and health concerns, are not incorporated into the production of this product.
